Nomenclature:

Sizhu: slender bamboo          Kong: space
Sizhukong  is at the lateral end of the eyebrow, which looks like a slender bamboo. The locus of the point is a shallow depression.

Location:

In the depression of the lateral end of the eyebrow

Functions:

  • Expels wind and heat (twitching of eyelids, pain and redness of eye, blurred vision).
  • Clears channel and invigorates collateral (shaoyang headache, paralysis around eyes).

Indication:

  • Sizhukong is beneficial for redness, swelling and pain of the eyes, twitching of the eyelids.
  • Also good for Migraine ,psychosis and epilepsy.

Method:

Puncture transversely 0.3-0.5 cun.

Precaution:

According to several classical texts, this point is contraindicated to moxibustion.
