Location:

Anterior to the fifth metatarsophalangeal joint, at the junction of the red and white skin.

Functions:

  • Dispels wind, clears heat.
  • Calms the spirit.

Indications of Tonggu:

  • Headache, neck rigidity, blurring of vision, epistaxis, mania.
  • Dampness, urinary difficulty, painful urination, burning micturation, dark and scanty urine.

Method:

Perpendicular- oblique insertion towards the sole 0.2 to 0.3 cun.
