Location:

The point lies 4 cun directly above the midline of the anterior hairline and 1.5 cun lateral to the midline.

Functions of tongtian:

  • Dispels wind.
  • Opens nose.
  • Subdues liver yang.

Indications :

Headache, sensation of heavyness in the head, deviation of eye and mouth, facial paralysis, stiffness in neck, giddiness, nasal obstruction, epistaxis, rhinorrhoea, loss of smell.

Method:

Transverse insertion 0.5 to 1 cun.

Remarks:

Good for treating disorders of nose.
