Location:

Within the hairline of the temporal region, midway of the borderline connecting Touwei (ST8) and Qubin (GB7).

Functions of Xuanlu:

  • Subdues Liver yang in the head.
  • Extinguishes interior wind and invigorates channels.
  • Disperse swelling and relieves pain.

Indications:

  • One of the main point for headache caused by the rise of Liver yang.
  • Epilepsy, convulsions, headache, migraine.
  • Pain in the outer canthus, facial swelling, lockjaw.

Method:

Transverse insertion 0.5-1.5 cun.

Remarks:

Meeting point of Triple energizer, gallbladder and stomach.
