Nomenclature:

Yi: shielding           Feng: pathogenic wind
Yifeng is behind the earlobe and is the place for shielding off the pathogenic wind.

Point: TE17
Chinese Name: 翳風
Name: Yifeng
English Name/Meaning: Wind Screen
Pinyin: yì fēng
Han Geul 한글: ye pung 예풍
Romaji: ei fū
Vietnamese: Ế phong

Location:

Posterior to the ear lobe, in the depression between the mastoid process and the angle of the mandible.

Functions:

  • Benefits hearing and  vision (treats ear for excess condition).
  • Disperses wind and clears channel (Facial paralysis, lockjaw).

Indication:

  • Yifeng is main point to treat ear diseases: tinnitus, deafness.
  • Also good for facial paralysis, locked jaw, toothache, bell’s palsy.
  • Scrofula.

Method:

Puncture perpendicularly 0.5-1.0 cun

Remarks:

Point of choice for Local ear problems.
