English Name/Meaning: Breast Window

Location:

In the third intercostal space, 4 cun lateral to the anterior midline.

Functions and indications of yingchuang:

Regulates lung and qi of the chest, so is beneficial in fullness and pain in the chest and hypochondrium, cough, asthma, breast problems-mastitis.

Method:

Puncture obliquely0.3-0.5 cun.

Remarks:

Oblique insertion only.

Precautions:

Deep or perpendicular insertion carries a substantial risk of puncturing the lung.
