Nomenclature:

Huang: huang-membranes     Shu: to transport
The Qi of the kidney infuses from Huangshu into the Huang membrane.

Chinese Name: 肓俞
English Name/Meaning: Vitals Transporter
Pinyin: huāng shū
Han Geul 한글: hwang yu 황유

Location:

0.5 cun lateral to the umbilicus, at the level of Shenque (REN8).

Functions of huangshu:

  • Harmonizes the stomach and sedates rebellious Qi.
  • Reduces local pain around the navel.

Indications:

Abdominal pain and distension, vomiting, constipation, diarrhoea.

Method:

Puncture perpendicularly 0.5 to 1 cun.

Remarks:

Meeting point of Kidney and chong vessel.
