Jianliao is in a foramen on the shoulder.

Location:

On the shoulder, posterior to Jianyu(LI15), when the arm abducted, in the depression posterior and inferior to the acromion.

Functions:

  • Dispels wind and damp (in channel/joint, shoulder disorders).
  • Invigorates Qi, Blood and relieves pain (for shoulder trauma, rotator cuff syndrome, Bi disorders).

Indications of jianliao:

  • Jianliao is main point for shoulder disorders. It is good for arthritis of shoulder joint, pain in the local area, heaviness of the shoulder with inability to raise the arm.
  • Also good for motor impairment of shoulder and upper arm.
  • Pain in the hypochondriac region.

Method:

Puncture perpendicularly 1-1.5 cun toward the shoulder joint.

Remarks:

Main point for shoulder disorders.
