Kun-lun: Name of mountain in west china.
The lateral malleolus is shaped like a mountain.The point  lies next to it.

Location:

Posterior to the external malleolus, in the depression between the prominence of the external malleolus and the Achilles tendon.

Functions:

  • Disperse wind and clears the channel (Bladder channel headache, low/mid/upper back and neck).
  • Relaxes the sinews and transforms damp (ankle swelling/pain ).
  • Benefits the lower back (Low back pain).

Indication of Kunlun BL60:

  • Main point for chronic low back problems, lumbar pain, heel pain.
  • Headache, stiff neck.
  • Prolonged labor.
  • Epilepsy.

Method:

Puncture perpendicularly 0.5-0.8 cun. 2.

Remarks:

Jing-river point.
Best used for chronic low back pain.
Helps to pull qi downward.

Precautions:

It is contraindicated in pregnant women.
