Quchai BL4: Nomenclature, Location, Functions, Indications

Quchai BL4 lies 0.5 cun direclty above the midpoint of the anterior hairline and 1.5  cun lateral to the midline, at the junction of the medial third and lateral two-thirds of the distance from Shenting (GV24) to Touwei (ST8).

Nomenclature:

Qu: crooked Cha: unevenness
The meridian runs crooked laterally from Meichong (BL3) and then runs posteriorily from Qucha. It is marked by unevenness.
Point: BL4
Chinese Name: 曲差
Name: Quchai
English Name/Meaning: Crooked Curve
Pinyin: qǔ chā
Han Geul 한글: gok cha 곡차

Vietnamese:Khúc sai

Location of Quchai:

0.5 cun direclty above the midpoint of the anterior hairline and 1.5 cun lateral to the midline, at the junction of the medial third and lateral two-thirds of the distance from Shenting (GV24) to Touwei (ST8).

Functions:

Clears heat and opens orifices.

Indications:

Headache, nasal obstruction, epistaxis, blurring and failing of vision.

Method:

Transverse insertion 0.5 to 1 cun.
