In the depression on the lower border of the clavicle, 2 cun lateral to the anterior midline.
Functions and indications:
- Relaxes chest and sedates rebellious Qi (cough, chest pain, chest congestion).
- Calms dyspnoea and supresses cough (asthma attack, breathing problems).
Transverse-oblique insertion, directed laterally along the intercostal space 0.5 to 1 cun.
- Soothing calming, sedating point for chronic asthma.
- Common point for depression and grief.
Deep perpendicular or oblique needling may puncture the lung.
