Nomenclature:

English Name/Meaning: Four Seams
Chinese Name: 四缝
Chinese Pinyin: Si-feng

Location:

On the palmar surface, in the midpoint of the transverse creases of the proximal interphalangeal joints of the index, middle, ring and little fingers. One hand has four points, both hands have a total of eight points.

Function and Indications of Sifeng :

Harmonises the Qi flow between upper and middle burners so is beneficial for malnutrition and indigestion syndrome in children.
Also benefits whooping cough.

Method :

Prick to cause bleeding; or prick, then squeeze out a small amount viscous fluid.

Remarks:

Especial use for children with malnutrition or parasites.

Dr. Ishwar Gyawali is Consultant Acupuncturist and Ayurveda Physician from Kathmandu, Nepal. He is a registered Doctor in NAMC (Nepal Ayurveda Medical Council ) both as a physician as well as TCM/Acupuncture Specialist.
