Location:

3 cun lateral to Xuanshu (GV 5), at the level of the lower border of the spinous process of the first lumbar vertebra.

Functions:

  • Regulates triple burner.
  • Stimulates the digestive system.
  • Benefits the breast.
  • Softens hardness.

Indications of Huangmen:

  • Abdominal pain, fullness and stiffness below the heart, constipation, abdominal mass.
  • Breast disease, pain and lumps in the breast, mastitis.

Method:

Oblique insertion 0.5 to 1 cun.

Precautions:

Deep perpendicular or needling in a wrong direction carries a substantial risk of injuring Kidney.
